Bugs when saving project to sil

Post by vfisher »

Very often i got duplicated strings on saving project to sil. Sometimes elements are lost completely, that much more trouble. I don`t know, what circumstances need to reproduce this behavior, but tsilang almost unusable because of this. Just save all project via tsilang expert and got this. Screenshots attached show contents of file and corresponding contents of translation in form.

Hello,
Thank you for your message. But unfortunately, I can't see the "exact duplicates". There are just different components with the same captions. Are you sure there are no mniToHead1 and mniTaxDocReg2 (and others similar) components on your Tfr_Devices form? The same for mni_f_Calcilator and mni_g_Calculator on the Tfr_Mods form.
Best regards,
Igor Siticov.

Maybe I said it a little wrong. Duplicates not components but languages. There is only 2 languages, but when saving, file contains 2 extra duplicate translations for same langs. Green on screenshots.

TSilang v.7.9.6.3 with {$DEFINE USETEXTDATA}
Project attached has 2 languages.

Bug #1. Duplicate translations. Steps to reproduce:
1. Open project
2. Open Tsilang Expert.
3. Save Project to sil fromat. Translation for some forms is duplicated.

Bug #2. Translation lost, when saving project with inherited forms.
1. Open project
2. Open Tsilang Expert. You will see Languahes Count: 2 - on base forms, 1 - on inherited forms (in reality there is 2 languages).
3. Save Project to sil format. Translation for second language for inherited forms with 1 language in expert is lost.

But, if open and than close inherited forms (lng count in expert became 2), project saved ok, with translation for all languages.
Unfortunately for some reason it doesn`t reproduce on attached project, but happens in 100% cases in big real project.

Thank you so much for the files. Please find below our findings:

Bug #1:
1. Please be sure to set IsInheritedOwner property of TsiLang components placed on inherited form to True.
2. I don't know why but TsiLang components on forms with duplicated languages initially contain these duplicates in DFM data.
3. Open Translations Editor for each of these forms, make some dummy changes like enter editing then exit editing to mark it as modified and save the translations.
4. After steps #1 and #3 the translations will be saved properly.

Bug #2:
1. Please be sure to set IsInheritedOwner property of TsiLang components placed on inherited form to True.
2. Otherwise you can enable TsiLang Expert's option "Open forms in IDE for saving/loading" and then translations will be save properly.

3. But I would still recommend to follow the step #1 as well.
4. We will try to find if it is possible to handle such situation better, but I doubt it is possible, as there is no details about languages count in inherited DFMs.
Best regards,
Igor Siticov.
