Unicode translation editing

We're developing an Intraweb app that needs multi-lingual support. Using Unicode is a vastly more convenient way of handling things than ANSI methods. However, SiLang is a bit ANSI oriented - the translation editor seems to only provide ANSI output, although the web pages render correctly as the UTF8 is transparently managed.

So, how should we proceed from here? We've installed the CLX support as suggested, but the translation editor seems to be an ongoing issue. What we are trying now is writing our own editor based on the tnt unicode components so we can edit the .sil file in utf8 in a friendly manner. Is this a sensible decision, or are we missing something?
