Components work great on windows xp.

But recently we installed the same app on Vista, server that runs tasks is the same windows 2003 server.

App even works on test PC with Vista as long is not in domain.

Any advices would be great.

Hello,

It looks like an issue with access permissions. I think you can take a look at domain users access permission settings.

We tried with local and administrator rights. But the same problem exists.

To point out:
- server is win 2003 (scheduler)
- client is Vista (access from XP woks ok with the same user that is created on server - admin rights)

Any other ideas? I think this should work even if we do not use domain users.

May be you can try to set UseTaskScheduler1Only to True. This will enforce Scheduling Agent to work on Vista the same as under Windows XP.

Update: if we use client application as domain administrator it works ok. Could you please tell me what rights must user have enabled?
We checked other posts but without success.

Thanks in advance.

I guess that this task always requires administrator rights. So I would place in your client EXE a manifest resource that will require administrator privileges upon startup.

Unfortunately, we could not find resolution with components. Temporarly we used some application to use admin rights. This is not acceptable for customer. In future we will decide to wait for new solutions of SiComponents or go with other components.

Hope to see solution soon. Confused
