I gave sileditor.exe to a translator but he cannot start it. It crashes with an EOleSysError at Startup. He is a "default user" within a domain with restricted access privileges.
The same is on my computer. As a developer user with local admin right a can start sileditor succesfully. When I logged in as a restricted user, sileditor crashes at start.
It's all Xp Pro SP2 with AutoUpdate.
How can I work around this issue?
Thank you in advance
Jürgen
Sileditor crashes at start with EOleSysError
SIL Editor includes OLE (COM) server embedded. And it tries to self-register it at start-up if it wasn't registered before. So you can either at first time run it as admin or use SIL Editor distribution package with installer available from our download page to install it. Once installed it could be used under restricted user.
