Dialog translation problem

Post by Prozerpina »

HI!
I have a problem:
I use TsiOpenPictureDialog, but some strings seem not to be translated at all:
- hints to buttons Go To Last Fodler Visited, Create New Folder,
Up One Level, View Menu (and the menu itself).
- The title of image preview window (that's opened by a Preview-button).
- The (None) on small preview area.

Theese strings do not appear in the linked TsiLang component's lists.
Using TsiSavePictureDialog meets the same problem.

Please, help

Hi,

Unfortunately, it is impossible to translate these elements and they are taken from OS. :(
- The title of image preview window (that's opened by a Preview-button).
Will be fixed in next update. In case of urgency you can translate it by importing and translating resource string "Preview" with TsiLang.
- The (None) on small preview area.
This one is translated. Do you see (None) item under Dialogs in TsiLang?
Best regards,
Igor Siticov.

Thank you. I'll try this.

Yes, I see it and it's translated in the sil-file, but when I run the program, it's still in English =(

May be there are some problems with loading or somewhere else?
You can try working sample at http://www.sicomponents.com/soft/demos/ ... Dialog.zip
Just click on the form to display dialog.
Please let me know if this helps.

Oh, sorry, I didn't tell you, that I work in CBuilder5,
not Delphi.
I tryed to create my own cbuilder-project with this Unit1.pas,
but the compiler generates errors =(
Could you please give me the same project in CBuilder?

I managed to compile and run the project,
so the new one is not needed.
But the translation problem stays the same:
(None) is not translated when running the program,
though I can see the translation in the SIL Editor.

I'm really sorry, but it looks like under C++Builder 5 and earlier, as well as under Delphi 5 and earlier, Borland used different method to draw (None) in dialog. :( So you will need to use resource translation for this string as well. We've created a sample project demonstrating this at:
http://www.sicomponents.com/soft/demos/ ... rlier).zip

This sample translates both (None) and Preview on preview window.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thank you very much =)

But I have already translated "Preview" and a little later "(None)"
using your advice about resource strings.

But anyway thank you,
for you are really helpful =)
