How to build dictionary from project

Post by wimbekker »

Hi,

I want to build a dictionary from all translation in my project.

Now I need to open each form, enter translation, select each item and then send the translations to the dictionary.

Is there a way to do this automatically?

Hello,

Currently there is no automatic method but in order to simplify your task I woud suggest the following:

1) Save all the project translations into one .SIL file (Click the expert menu File|Save / Load Translations|Save Project... and specify filename)
2) Open that .SIL file in the SIL Editor
3) Select a category, for example "Captions" and click the toolbutton "Add all to dictionary"

As you see the SIL Editor has the same dictionary functions as Translation Editor, but the first one allows adding strings from one category for ALL forms in the project.
